Narrabeen lake on the northern beaches of Sydney has a 9km track circling it. Well almost circling it – the final stretch to complete the loop is imminent. It is great for Isabel to home her biking skills.
All fun at the start and a break at the halfway point.
And then we retrace our steps back to the car. Another 9km. Isabel shows off her skills: sprinting up the hills; and pedalling standing up.
Maybe Santa will get her a new, bigger bike.
And the route is here.
Isabel has graduated from day care. Next step is big school in February. There was a ceremony and Isabel was chuffed with her certificate.
And that evening there was a big party with a pony and face painters.
Summer is here and so is the Sunday morning ritual trip to the beach.
Bonfire night was always the focus when I was growing up but fires in Australia in Spring are a bit of a no-no.
There are some streets nearby that are the designated Trick-or-Treat streets and they were full of superheroes, fairies, and a variety of scary costumes.
Isabel was a Vampire.
On Saturday we went to the fireworks at Frenchs Forest. There was a fair and Isabel had a wild old time with some friends.
Isabel got a taste of it and so we just had to go to Luna Park for the dodgems.
14.5km around Narrabeen lake.

It started all well.
But after 8km the track petered out and so we decided to go cross country and found ourselves 100m above the lake on a fire trail.
But Iz was a hero and battled on.
And we finally got back after 2 hours. All quite knackered.
As Spring has sprung the evenings are warmer and today was a balm(oral)y 24°C.
So it was fish and chips on a bench looking out to the sea.
A trip to Frenchy’s for breakfast to celebrate Father’s Day.
Pride in our little girl was slightly tempered when we went to the supermarket and Isabel’s graffiti from 2 weeks ago was still there!
Stopover on the way home at Dubai. A crazy place – there was a ski slope next to the hotel.
We did a brilliant sand dune safari where we (Anna & Iz, not me) had a camel ride.
Iz also met a Peregrine Falcon.
A great day.
Had a brilliant time at Legoland at Windsor.
There were some great rides for 5-year olds.
Highlight if the day was the log flume, especially after we had finished and saw the photo with Isabel’s expression.
